Is a home inspection necessary when I am selling my home?

ANSWER

Yes, a “Point of Sale” inspection is required before any dwelling is sold. Contact the Building Department at 232-9980 to schedule an appointment.

Is there financial assistance available for home renovations?

ANSWER

“The Housing Enhancement Loan Program” is available through Cuyahoga County. This program makes it possible for homeowners to improve homes or rental properties at rates 3 percentage points less than a bank’s market interest rate for home improvements. Do I need a permit to put a fence around my yard?

ANSWER

Yes, permits are required for the erection of a fence and for many other home improvement projects. Contact the Building Department at 232-9980 before embarking upon any project to determine what requirements exists.

Can you recommend a contractor for a project in my home?

ANSWER

The Village cannot provide recommendations for contractors. Residents should verify that the contractor is registered with the Village, contact the Better Business Bureau and ask the contractor for references.

BOARD MEETING REQUIREMENTS

All applications shall be in writing and filed with the Board Secretary for placement on the meeting agenda, property owner is required to be in attendance at the meeting. The charge for submitting plans is as follows:

Planning Commission (PC) - (See 1101.01)

  1. ) $250.00 – Fences, ground signs, lot splits or any other matters requiring review by one professional
  2. ) $500.00 – One family dwellings, or matters requiring review by more than one professional
  3. ) $2,500.00 – All other commercial buildings or subdivisions

  1. ) $20.00 Non-Refundable, for new single family residential construction
  2. ) $100.00 for signs
