The Village of Oakwood Mourns the Passing of Mayor Gary Gottschalk

The Oakwood Village Council and Administration are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our beloved long-time Mayor, Gary Gottschalk, on September 12, 2025. Mayor Gottschalk dedicated his life to serving our community with tireless commitment, vision, and love for Oakwood Village. His leadership and devotion will be profoundly missed.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to the Gottschalk family and ask that you keep them in your thoughts during this difficult time.

Funeral Arrangements
Services for Mayor Gottschalk will be held on Friday, September 19, 2025, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Mt. Zion. Following the service, a procession will travel northbound on Broadway Avenue past the Village Hall, turn onto Tryon Road to Richmond Road, continue northbound past his home, and proceed to Hillcrest Cemetery on Aurora Road in Bedford Heights.
